Nia Valentine, NP

Nia Valentine is an American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She originally attended Baltimore City Community College, where she received an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing. Nia pursued her interest in nursing further, graduating from University of Maryland Baltimore with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. While working as a registered nurse in an Acute Medical/Surgical unit and Home Health Agency, she received a Master of Science Degree in Nursing with a specialty in Family practice in 2009 with honors. She has worked in Family Medicine as a primary care provider using minimally invasive therapeutic injections to treat pain, Managed and Led Nurse Practitioners and supporting staff in a Convenient/Retail Care setting, worked independently in an Acute Same Day/Walk in Clinic and implemented a myriad of health initiatives while working in a School Based Health setting.

Nia has a professional publication in Convenient Care Clinics: The Essential Guide to Retail Clinics for Clinicians, Managers and Educators. She is an active member of several professional organizations including American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) along with Pain Management Specialty group, Nurse Practitioner Association of Maryland (NPAM), Kappa Omicron Nu- Honor Society of Human Sciences and Invited to Join Sigma Theta Tau- International Honor Society of Nursing.

Nia enjoys working with patients building a strong compassionate relationship using a multi-modality approach to help promote the quality of care for patients in pain; acute and chronic. While not at work, she enjoys spending time playing and watching sports with her husband and son, she has an appreciation of music, and loves romantic movies. She also enjoys vacationing with her family and friends.
