Debbie has practiced as a Licensed Physical Therapist in the Baltimore area since 1993. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington University in St. Louis and her Master of Physical Therapy degree from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia. Debbie has experience treating a variety of patients with orthopedic and neurologic conditions in many settings including inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, home care, and assisted living facilities.
Prior to coming to the SMART Functional Rehabilitation Program as the Director of Rehabilitation, Debbie worked in the same capacity at a functional restoration program in the Baltimore area, focusing on the rehabilitation of injured workers suffering from chronic pain. Debbie has always believed the interdisciplinary team approach is the most effective treatment method to address patients with complicated and involved issues. She emphasizes the physical therapy at SMART FRP is very different from a typical physical therapy outpatient office. For patients with chronic pain, the injured body part is not the only problem. Our program focuses on rehabilitating the entire body to improve function, strength, flexibility, body mechanics, and postural awareness while learning various strategies to cope with pain and stress.
